Today is a teacher work day, so despite the kids being sick, no school today!
I drove to Nanaimo this morning to see my doctor. I stopped off at a couple of coffee shops looking for “My Panera”, but alas, nothing fits the bill. I’m not sure exactly what it was about Panera, the “Coffee Club” of $15/month for free coffee? The vibe of the young college kids at UNC with their lives ahead of them? The young professionals working on business plans and making contacts? Not sure, but I sure miss it… Nothing in the Comox Valley + Nanaimo approaches it, at least from what I can find, yet…
On the way home my wife wanted me to stop by the vet and pick up Maple’s meds and her meds at Courtenay Pharmacy. At the turnoff point on Cliffe Avenue I saw this (see photo to the right). I had to take a “double take”. Two small bunnies eating and napping in the grass on the side of the road. The grass didn’t even look that lush and desirable compared to what was nearby. Oh well, it was what it was, and worth stopping to take a pic.
The “fam” wanted Wendy’s so I stopped by there on the way home. Two single combos, one for Katie and one for Bobby. A chocolate Frosty for Bobby, and large chili and baked potato for my wife.
Katie and I are off to Victoria for her Autism testing tomorrow. The Air B&B is not ready till 4 pm, so we plan on leaving at 1 pm.
