Day #5986 – (Wed., May 27, 2026) – “Most Diplomatic” Award!

I drove Katie to her Model UN Conference at Isfeld school this morning (see photo to the right). This is the fourth Model UN conference in 2026!

Bobby rode his bike to school. He went to Bryston’s house after school and ended up biking with Bryston and Kye. He fell off his electric bike and injured his ankle. Bryston’s dad put the tire back on the rim, but was unable to inflate the tire.

The reason he was unable to inflate the tire is that the space between the rim and the end of the rear tire nozzle is so short that a regular bike pump will not fit onto it. This evening I went shopping to Walmart and Canadian Tire to find an extension cable. I was unable to find a cable, but I did find a hand pump. I thought it would be able to fit, but even the end of the hand pump was too big to fit into the space. I’ll order an extension cable from Amazon and it should be here in a couple of days. If that doesn’t work I will load the bike up in the van and take it to Black’s Cycle to see what they suggest.

I picked up Katie at Isfeld at 5 pm this evening. The conference was a huge success and Katie, representing Brazil won the second most prestigious award “Most Diplomatic” (see photo to the left). The top award was won by the guy representing the US, and Katie’s teacher told her beforehand that it was a strong presentation and probably going to be tough to beat. Katie is very pumped and can’t wait to see what next year will bring.

Bobby’s ankle is not well as of this evening. Hopefully resting it will do the trick but we might need to take him to the doctor.
