Bobby and I got up bright and early this morning and headed out to Maple Lake. The guy at “Gone Fishing” yesterday told me that it was best to go in the morning or evening, to escape the heat of the day, if you were fishing from the shore. Well, we tried, but no fish! Lots of seaweed though. As we were leaving an elderly gentleman came up in his truck and gave us some advice. A guy was fishing from our exact spot a few days ago and he was pulling them in. Apparently he let his hook just sit on the bottom for up to 30 minutes and read a book. We are just too impatient! I think we’ll try to leave the hook there for 30 minutes next time and see how it goes.

Over in Vancouver, my wife and daughter did a 2 hour walking tour and Katie came to the conclusion she loves it here! Yesterday she hated it, but today she fell in love with the campus! They are building a MASSIVE Sauder add-on (see photo to the right) and 80% of 1st year dorms are single. 2nd year and beyond dorms are harder to get, but ALL are single, and once you get one you get to keep it for your whole stay! All dorms have dedicated music practice rooms. Their tour guide played music himself and was from the US, and our intro-guy was a business student!
They also found a realtor who showed them some apartments and condos and dropped them off to get hot dogs. She then picked them up to show them around for where to get groceries and supplies.
This evening they ordered Korean chicken via Uber since they have it for free for a one month trial.
I just got a free uber delivery for a month as a trial and we ordered Korean chicken.
Back on “The Island”, this evening Bobby wanted to go to KFC for a change. ChatGPT told us that they had some boba refreshers, but not in this store on Cliffe. We ended up getting a huge package of original recipe chicken tenders and two huge sides of fries. Enough to last the boy the weekend!
